Ask most people around you, and most of them will have goals that they may or may not be working toward. There is no life if there are no goals that we are reaching for and striving to obtain. We are all unconsciously or consciously working toward something or some goals on some level. We also all know that to reach our goals we must know what exactly they are.
If we don’t have clearly defined goals written out, we will not achieve them. A lot of people will have goals set and then there are a lot more people who don’t. I remember asking my ex wife one time during an argument “what exactly do you want from me” and the funny thing is she couldn’t answer that question.
She didn’t have a clearly defined want or need that she could express to me at that time. There are times in our life where we may be unhappy, wanting change, and just plain grumpy. It is during those times that we need to figure out what it is exactly what we want. That is the first thing needing to reaching your goals.
What do you want
In order for you to be able to work toward something, you need to know exactly what that something is. If you pick a point in life and go for it no matter what is going on around you, you will get there. Period. It doesn’t matter your skill sets, income, where you are in life, circumstances, or anything else. If you want something bad enough and are willing to stake your life on it, you will get it.
Clearly write down and define your goal. Write it down don’t just say I know what they are in your head. Write them down. Come up with a clear who, what, where, when, why, and how and write it down. Once you have written it down, read it in the morning, right before you go to bed, and as often as you can throughout the day.
Belief that you can do it
After you have clearly defined what you want out of life, the only thing else you need is to believe that you can do it. Faith in yourself is far more powerful than your circumstances, situations, or finances. Belief that you can do it is more powerful than even how you will do it. You don’t even need to know how, just believe that you can do it and you will. Period.
What is the plan?
After you have written down what exactly you want and you believe it will happen for you, come up with a clearly defined plan on reaching your goals and write it down. Along with your goals write down your plan on reaching your goals and again read that in the morning, before you go to bed, and as often as you can throughout the day.
