12 Ways to Change your Mood
Author: Hillary D Price
There is a snowball effect: Bad mood = Worrying = Lack of Sleep = Poor Decision Making Ability. Bad moods seem to instigate negative, fearful and self-deprecating thoughts. We tend to compare ourselves to others. Work becomes even more difficult. You do not see any opportunity and often perceive that others have it easy. A bad mood can set limitations that do not really exist. Your understanding of mood can change your perception of the tasks in front you. It allows you to take your mistakes or failure less seriously. Moods always change.
Here are a few ways to change your bad mood into a good mood:
1)Listen to a favorite song
2) Take a nap
3) Find and watch a funny video on Youtube.com
4) Remember the last funny joke you heard
5) Meditate
6) Take a walk or exercise
7) Sing a song out loud (if you are at work, head to your car with the windows rolled up)
8) Play with a pet
9) Take 15 minutes to daydream
10) Create something
11) Take time to do something you have been ignoring
12) Play a game (however do not play a game that will make your mood worse, i.e. losing at online poker…)
Maybe you have been told you need an attitude adjustment? Well, I have. Attitude is the way we think, feel and do. Attitudes are generally positive or negative. Moods and attitudes are different. Keeping a good attitude is something you do in spite of the moods you go through. An attitude is an outlook on life that can help you react more consistently and positively. It can also help you deal with emotions you face on a day-to-day basis.
Your attitude is deeper than your mood. Maybe you feel as if you never have enough and others have opportunities that you do not. Maybe you will do nothing to change it. You focus only on others’ opportunities. And even if along the way you do get an opportunity, you will not be able to see it.
