Humans seek meaning as a necessary means for survival. In part, people do this through their creative ability to rationalize. It may be considered that a part of seeking meaning has to do with maintaining consistency and inner balance at any cost. Sometimes individuals create the need to defend and rationalize decisions and actions, even if they are wrong. Seeking meaning is part of the process of inner and outer growth.

When you understand that you have control over nothing, your response can be despair or detachment. Passion acts with great enthusiasm, extraordinary intensity, and deep feelings. Detachment lets go of all concern for the results of the action.

This is my reaction to Nat Geo’s eye-opening documentary about stress. It follows a scientist’s research about stress, by first looking at how baboons experience stress. Then, he tried to look for similarities whether such animal experiences have affinities with the human experience of stress.

We’ve all heard the expression about dreaming one’s life away, but what if were literally true. That is, life really is but a dream; you don’t die and go to some kind of afterlife, assuming there’s an afterlife of course, but on your dream deathbed you actually awake and awake into a new really awake reality, which you can call an ‘afterlife’ if you wish.
