Ready, Fire, Aim – The Key to Overcoming Hesitation

A lot of people get stuck in what I sometimes call “analysis paralysis”, where they tend to think too much and never wind up taking any action to test the waters and get more power in their lives. This is usually caused by perfectionism, and wanting things to be perfect before they will take action, but it’s also the result of fear and the aversion to not succeeding on their first attempt. We must prevent this challenge and cancel out our fears by taking action first, and then adapting and adjusting while on the journey. If we rarely do things that move us towards our goals then we won’t have a chance to begin getting feedback and begin finding out the areas that our unique talents really are, and in what ways we can discover a place for our life in which we are fully embracing our unique talents, enjoying our self, giving power to those we interact with and getting back power, freedom and wealth in exchange.

If you know that there’s something that you’ve been contemplating taking action on for some time, particularly if you use the phrase “someday” like when saying “someday I’ll…”, which is actually a code phrase for “I’ll never do this thing”, that’s exactly when you need to quit analyzing, stop planning, stop debating, and just take action now. Oftentimes, we don’t even know exactly what we’re dealing with when we are contemplating taking action, but if we’ll simply do it, get started, fully immerse our self and start taking action, then we will get to the place where we really know what we are getting into and get a better understanding. That’s when we’ll be better able to create plans and adjust and forsee where and how we can actually succeed and grow in that area or not. We might discover that it wasn’t what we imagined it to be and we can then move onto a much better opportunity and have that happen faster than if we we’re just debating in fear and hesitation the whole time.

Now you can see how using this concept, and using it today (no hesitation with this either) can start moving your life forward very rapidly. Like a missle set to reach its target, you will begin to adapt and adjust your direction as you move toward your destination. You’ll rarely be able to get this wisdom, experience and knowledge, if you do not take action in the first place, so take action right now. Just do it (as Nike says) and get some experience, skill, and understanding and start moving your life forward. I believe in you, and I fully believe that you can become more successful and that you have the courage to embrace this idea and get out in the real world and start changing things for the better in your life and in your legacy, beginning today.
