He just stopped calling me.” Most of us have said this at least once or twice. It’s always a bit baffling. You’re dating a guy who you believe has amazing potential. Your dates have been great. You’ve felt comfortable with him and then suddenly there is nothing but silence from his end. You’re left there sitting in a puddle of confusion wondering exactly what’s going on.

When a man stops calling a woman’s natural reaction is to find out why. It’s almost as if we’re overcome with this insatiable need to know exactly what happened. Although that’s understandable, it’s destructive. Hunting down a man who has stopped calling you and then demanding to know why, makes you look like a desperate fool. You never want to appear that way to any man.

Instead of trying to get him to tell you what happened, you can gain some insight by learning the main reasons why men stop calling women. Even though each man is unique and may have his own motivations for dropping all contact, there are generally just a few typical reasons behind this type of behavior.

If a man feels uncomfortable in a relationship because of emotional pressure too soon, he’ll stop calling. This sometimes happens when a woman is swept off her feet and starts talking about commitment and marriage on the second or third date. Even if he seems completely into you, he’s going to run for the hills if you bring up these subjects too soon. Pouring your heart out to him when you two are still getting to know each other is a definite reason for him to stop calling.

Men do get busy sometimes and depending on how long it’s been since he called, this may be the reason. If he has a demanding position at work, or if there has been a lot going on with his personal life that may be the cause of the silence on his end.

Finally, there’s another reason why men suddenly stop calling. Some men are insecure and if they feel unsure of what you’re feeling, they’ll test you a bit. These tests are crude and often misconstrued, but not calling is one of them. He may very well be waiting to see how you react to this. If you react strongly, he’ll feel confident in how you feel for him. No reaction of your part actually increases his interest more so consider that before you reach out to him.

About the Author

You need to always remember that men and women view phone calls, emails and text in very different ways. If you make the mistake of calling too frequently, at the wrong time or before he’s ready to hear from you, you can actually turn him off. Women unwittingly ruin their chances of a future with a man because they are too over eager to hear from him. Don’t let this happen to you. Find out when you should be calling your man.

You may think that there’s no consequence when you pick up the phone to call the man in your life, but there is. Men pay close attention to when women call them and they’ll make assumptions about you based on that. Learn when the perfect time to call him is so that he’ll find you irresistible.
