What is the Most Important Key in Your Readiness to Find the Right Person? – Knowing Yourself

You’re not sure if you are ready to get out there, or get back out there, and start dating again. Or maybe you’ve been dating continuously but they all turn out to be the wrong fit and the wrong type.

Dating comes with the intent of finding a person who is going to make you happy and be a good fit into your life. But how can you find someone who’s going to make you happy and be a good fit if you don’t know what that means for you?

We’ve all dated people who didn’t please us and who just didn’t seem to be on the same level as us but if you know yourself you can save yourself some heartache in choosing the wrong person.

Pretending to be someone you are not, pretending to like stuff you don’t like, and going places you don’t like to go all just to please someone else has got to stop at some point and you have to start being true to yourself. You have to be honest with yourself.

I remember when I stopped pretending to like horror movies just for the sake of fitting in with whomever I was dating. I put my foot down and decided that the months of nightmares were doing more damage to me than just refusing to watch them anymore. I know it sounds small but it was something I did for so long to make my partners happy that it was a relief to be honest with myself and just let it go.

I see many people who are in a relationship, unhappy, and pretending to be exactly like their partner. No wonder they are unhappy! They never do anything they like.

The right person is going to like you for yourself and accept you for all you are. And as a bonus if you know your interests and your likes than you can find someone who has those same qualities you have and spend time doing the things you love together.

When you know who you are, then you know who and what you want in life. You also know what makes you happy. That’s when you are ready to find them and have them compliment and enhance your life.
