Creating Your Reality

Author: Vera Stark

Our reality is one that we create through our thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Every creation begins with a thought, concept or idea.

Take a look around you. What do you see? Everything that exists in physical form began with a thought, concept or idea in someone’s mind. Is there anything you see that didn’t?

Now close your eyes. What do you see? It’s different. You are now seeing a vision of your thoughts. If you are thinking about running a race then that is what you are seeing. If you’re thought is about what happened at work yesterday that is what you envision. Whenever you close your eyes your mind immediately goes to the past which are your memories or to a preview of the future. When you are totally present and in the moment there is no thought.

Try this. Close your eyes and ask yourself, “I wonder what my next thought is going to be?” Then just pay close attention waiting for the next thought. For some it will take longer than others for the first thought to come to mind which is when your conscious attention falls below a certain level.

We have an average of 65,000 thoughts a day going through our minds. Even when we are sleeping we are processing our thoughts. There are 86,400 seconds in a 24 hour day which means we have a different thought every 1.3 seconds. When I tell people this the most common remark I get is, “no wonder my head hurts.” Isn’t that the truth?

Every one of your thoughts and beliefs are filed in the subconscious mind where they stay. When we are facing a difficult problem, a thought about it is triggered, we feel the emotion and we react accordingly.

The only way to change your reality is by changing your thoughts and the only way of changing your thoughts is to become conscious or aware of them. It is so natural for us as humans to think yet in most cases we are oblivious to what we are thinking and how it is creating our reality. Most people will rarely exceed what they believe is possible for themselves.

What are your thoughts and beliefs around your finances? Are you thinking that your potential for earning income is infinite or are you always thinking from a place of lack?

What about your relationship? Are you thinking about the kind of person you want to be with or are your thoughts based on past relationships that maybe didn’t go so well and you don’t feel worthy of having any better?

So is it just a matter of thinking differently that will change our reality?

No. Although it begins with our thoughts, it is the feeling that we have around our thoughts that the Universe responds to. Thought without feeling isn’t possible. For each and every thought we have there is a feeling that accompanies it.

For just a moment think of yourself as an energy source. Take away the human body and that is all you are left with. That is all the universe is made up of. Energy is vibration so when we are feeling a particular emotion we are vibrating a certain energy which is then attracting that energy back to us. If you are having a positive thought then the corresponding feeling will be positive which will attract to you something positive. Like attracts like!

Keep your thoughts positive,
because your thoughts become your words.
Keep your words positive,
because your words become your behaviors.
Keep your behaviors positive,
because your behaviors become your habits.
Keep your habits positive,
because your habits become your values.
Keep your values positive,
because your values become your destiny.

~ Gandhi ~

Become the master of your thoughts. Listen to what you are thinking. Whether it is a negative thought or a positive thought be cognizant of it and how it makes you feel.

  • Over the next week practice being the watcher of your thoughts.
  • At the end of the day journal your experience
  • Going for a walk and meditating are great ways to get inside the mind.
